It works well. However, if you use a thin spreading lotion, you need to apply it sparingly or you'll end up getting it all over the place. Thick lotions seem to work better at not getting it all over the place or falling off of the rollers.
I suggest that you can use the rollers multiple times if you keep them in a plastic storage bag before washing them...IF they are not dirty! Otherwise, I'd suggest washing them if and when they are dirty.
So far, I think they are a very useful product. My skin gets dry during the winter...like now. These work very well for me.
